The Rainbow

The rainbow is a promise from our Father's loving mind,
That He will not again, by rain or flood, annihilate mankind.
But there is more within this arc, the colors that we see.
Each holds a meaning all their own.  There, reminding me

It isn't only in the skies following a rain,
It's wherever sun meets water.  A miracle hard to explain.
It rises from a waterfall; from every drop of dew.
Next time you see one, think of what it's colors mean to you.

RED, the color of the blood shed by Jesus Christ.
For our redemption, on the cross He was sacrificed.
It cleanses, heals and strengthens...takes asway our sin
And reminds us when we're tempted, we can always win.

ORANGE, the color of the sunrise and the sunset of each day
Marking off our time in life in such a lovely way.
With sunrise, the beginning, we can start our lives anew
And sunset is the time for thanks...another day is through.

YELLOW is the color of the bright and shining sun,
The gift of life from our dear Lord for each and everyone.
But beyond its brilliant beauty, its warmth and golden glow,
God gave it, for without it no living things would grow.

GREEN is the color of bounty...another promise from our God.
The orchards of fruit and fields of grain...expanses of lush growing sod.
It reminds us He is with us and that He will provide
Not just His fruits of creation, but His presence at our side.

BLUE is the color of peacefulness.  A beautiful, wonderful prize.
It's the curtain concealing the heavens...those lovely, calm summer skies.
It's the color of still waters and the constantly moving sea.
Another give from a loving Father, who gives so faithfully.

PURPLE is the color of power and royalty,
Reminding us of who He is and who He'll always be.
The Alpha and the Omega...the beginning and the end;
The Lord of Lords and King of Kingas, and a faithful, loving friend.

It doesn't happen often, but each time it is displayed,
We know it is God renewing the promise He conveyed.
So don't just loot at rainbows...try to look within
And see tghe meanings hidden there.  It will restore your faith again.
