Nothing's ever permanent;
     Life is always making changes.
What today may bring into out lives,
     Tomorrow rearranges.

Everything upon God's earth
     Has its proper season
And nothing ever happens
     Without a  perfect reason.

Unhappiness may visit,
     But only for a while,
Then it, too, will be altered
     Into a happy smile.

And  loneliness may stop to rest
     If only for a minute,
But if our hearts are filled with love
It leaves, 'cause it can't win it.

Consider how a leaf may cling
To the tree it's grown upon.
But seasons change, it turns to gold
And soon it, too, is gone.

Or a snowflake falling from the sky
     Changes shape and form
When in its falling happens to
     Alight on something warm.

So if discomfort happens by,
     You know it cannot stay.
For change is ever-present and
     This, too, shall pass away.
